👷 About the role
A hands-on mixed sheep and cropping position covering the full seasonal cycle across 12 months.
• Seeding operations and chaser bin driving
• Potential combine/header operation during harvest
• Fertiliser, dolomite and gypsum spreading
• Spraying, spreading and grain handling
• Earthworks and loader operation
• Daily machinery checks and basic maintenance
• Welding, fabrication and general repairs
• Mulesing assistance and shearing shed work
• Sheep handling and husbandry
• Fencing, water runs and property maintenance
This role suits someone practical, mechanically minded and switched on — comfortable behind the wheel of modern broadacre gear but equally happy to muck in around the sheep and the workshop.
✅ What you'll need
• Experience with large modern broadacre machinery
• Strong understanding of cropping systems
• Mechanical aptitude — comfortable with daily checks and basic repairs
• Ability to work long hours during seeding and harvest
• Driver's licence — essential
• HR licence and chemical handling ticket — desirable
• Welding and fabrication skills — highly regarded
• A team-first attitude and willingness to help across the operation
