Precision Farming Specialist
Full-time
Ag Machinery
Vehicle provided
Housing available
Trainee pathway available
A standout opportunity for a tech-minded ag professional to join one of WA's most established family-owned machinery dealerships. Boekeman Machinery is trusted by growers right across the Wheatbelt — and they're looking for someone who genuinely loves precision agriculture technology and wants to be the expert growers turn to when something goes wrong, or when they're ready to invest in something new. Trainee pathways are available for the right candidate.
🏢 About the business
Boekeman Machinery is a family-owned agricultural and construction equipment dealership with branches spanning the WA Wheatbelt and surrounding regions. With 120 staff and a strong brand portfolio — including Case IH, New Holland, Ausplow and K-Line — they've built a reputation for reliable equipment, expert technical support and genuine aftersales care.
This isn't a corporate churn machine. It's a business that backs its people, invests in their development, and takes pride in being a long-term partner to growers across the region.
🚜 About the role
Boekeman Machinery is seeking a motivated, tech-savvy Precision Farming Specialist to support growers and internal departments with the full spectrum of precision ag technology — GPS guidance, auto-steer, telematics, data management platforms and variable-rate systems.
The role is primarily based at the Northam branch, reporting directly to the Precision Farming Manager there. You'll also provide support across the wider branch network — Dalwallinu, Wongan Hills, Dowerin and Brookton — as needed, servicing within 100km of each location.
Key duties include:
🔸 Diagnosing precision technology and electrical issues on machinery — getting growers back up and running
🔸 Handing over new machinery, managing the tech delivery and running on-farm demonstrations
🔸 Recommending new precision solutions to growers and setting them up properly so they actually work
🔸 Supporting the internal team with technical knowledge across Case IH, New Holland and Raven systems
🔸 Maintaining strong communication with the Precision Farming Manager based in Northam
🔸 Working independently across multiple branch locations within 100km of each site
Seeding (April–June) and Hay Harvest (October–December) are the busy periods — if you thrive under demand, you'll fit right in.
✅ What you'll need
• Knowledge of GPS systems in agriculture — or a strong, demonstrable appetite to learn
• A genuine interest in technology and how things work
• Electrical diagnostics skills preferred — an auto-electrician background is ideal
• Strong communication skills with both clients and internal team
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload across sites
• Agricultural industry background preferred
• Manual driver's licence required
🎓 No precision ag experience? Don't rule yourself out. A trainee-level pathway is available for candidates who show the right attitude, technical aptitude and willingness to learn. Wage will reflect experience level.
💰 What's on offer
| Wage | $38–$46/hr — based on experience |
| Superannuation | Yes — paid in addition to wage |
| Overtime | Available at 1.5× rate |
| Vehicle | Company vehicle provided |
| Equipment | Phone, laptop and Starlink provided |

🏡 Location & lifestyle
The role is based primarily out of Northam — a well-serviced regional centre about 90 minutes east of Perth, with schools, shops, medical services and a strong community. It's a proper town with everything you need.
The broader Wheatbelt is genuine broadacre farming country — wide open skies, tight-knit communities and a way of life that suits people who love the land. If you want somewhere to put down roots and build a real career in ag, this is the region to do it.
