Sprayer Operator
Full-time
Cropping
11–12 months per year
Sponsorship considered
Modern machinery
A rare opportunity to join one of Australia's largest and most progressive fresh produce operations in the heart of the South Australian Mallee. This is a genuine year-round role — 11 to 12 months of steady, consistent work — on a large-scale enterprise that runs modern machinery and takes pride in doing things properly. If you're an experienced sprayer operator looking for stability and a long-term home, this is worth your attention.
🌾 About the operation
This is a well-established, large-scale irrigated cropping enterprise based at Parilla in the SA Mallee — one of the most productive fresh produce growing regions in the country. The operation runs a continuous year-round production program across potatoes, carrots, onions and cereal crops under centre pivot irrigation, supplying major Australian retailers and food manufacturers.
With over 18,000 hectares of cropping land and annual production running into the hundreds of thousands of tonnes, this is a serious business with serious infrastructure. The focus is on precision, efficiency and high standards across every part of the operation — and that starts with the people running the machinery.
The business is investing heavily in continued expansion and is looking for quality operators to grow with them long term.
🚜 About the role
A full-time Sprayer Operator position within a large, structured cropping team. Due to the year-round nature of the production program, this role offers consistent work across 11 to 12 months — not a seasonal stint.
Key duties include:
🔸 Operating modern large-scale boomspray equipment across the full cropping program
🔸 Applying herbicides, fungicides, insecticides and fertilisers accurately and safely
🔸 Calibrating equipment and managing chemical rates and records
🔸 Daily machinery checks, cleaning and basic maintenance
🔸 Working to strict spray programs across multiple crop types
🔸 Maintaining accurate chemical application records and spray diaries
🔸 Communicating with supervisors on crop conditions, timing and program execution
🔸 Operating in line with WHS and chemical handling requirements at all times
This role suits a focused, detail-oriented operator who understands that getting spraying right is critical to crop performance — and takes that responsibility seriously.
✅ What you'll need
• Proven experience as a sprayer operator — essential
• Chemical handling certificate (Chemcert or equivalent) — essential
• Strong understanding of spray timing, rates and record keeping
• Mechanical aptitude for basic equipment maintenance and calibration
• Ability to work to a program with accuracy and attention to detail
• Good communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Driver's licence required — HR preferred
• Ability to work independently across long shifts during peak periods
🌏 Visa sponsorship is available for the right candidate. We welcome applications from experienced operators on working visas who meet the experience requirements and are looking for a long-term role.

It's a part of the world that suits people who love the land, enjoy a quieter rural lifestyle, and want to feel genuinely settled in their work rather than chasing the next seasonal job.
