A family farming business in the Great Southern is looking for an enthusiastic Livestock Manager to join their team. The farm runs a Merino and prime lamb flock alongside a cropping program. This is a hands on role. We're after someone who wants to be out working alongside the team and leading from the front.
🐑 The Role
Reporting to the Farm Owner, the Livestock Manager looks after the day to day running of the sheep operation, from feeding and pasture care through to animal health and looking after the team. The farm uses modern tools like Mobble and electronic ear tags to keep good records, so you'll always know exactly what's going on with the flock. You'll be involved in every stage of the yearly cycle, from joining and scanning through to lambing, weaning and shearing, as well as running the feedlot operations. You'll also have access to a livestock consultant and a vet for specialist advice, plus support with your record keeping.
✅ What You'll Be Doing

🎯 What We're Looking For
  • Around 2 years' experience in a livestock management role, ideally in a self replacing Merino system
  • Genuine low stress stock handling ability. The yards are quiet, with minimal yelling and minimal dog barking
  • Lifetime Ewe Management course completion highly regarded
  • Comfortable using ag technology such as EIDs, XR5000 and Mobble
  • Well controlled working dogs a bonus
  • Able to work unsupervised, plan ahead and communicate clearly with the Farm Owner
  • Genuinely hands on. Happy to work alongside the team day to day and lead by example
