A genuine opportunity to step into a key livestock management role on a well-established Merino sheep enterprise in WA's Southern Wheatbelt. A long-term role suited to someone who enjoys responsibility, leadership and being heavily involved in all aspects of the livestock program — with plans to grow the flock from 7,000 to 10,000 head.
🐏 About the role
You'll play a key role managing the livestock side of the operation, including:
• Day-to-day management of a Merino sheep enterprise
• Animal health and welfare
• Lambing and joining management
• Stock movements and feeding operations
• Pasture and grazing management
• Staff supervision and coordination
• Record keeping and general operational planning
• Working closely with owners on livestock performance and planning
This is a hands-on position with real ownership over the livestock program — not just an operator role.
✅ What you'll need
• Previous livestock management experience
• Strong understanding of Merino sheep production
• Good stock handling and animal husbandry skills
• Ability to work independently and lead operations
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Machinery operation experience viewed favourably
