An excellent opportunity is available for an experienced Livestock Manager to join a progressive 9,500ha mixed farming operation in WA’s Wheatbelt.

This is a genuine leadership role overseeing a large scale Merino sheep enterprise of approximately 12,000 head, working within a well established business that continues to invest heavily into livestock infrastructure, operational efficiency and long term growth.

You’ll be joining a supportive team environment where your input is valued and where there is real scope to take ownership of the livestock side of the business.

About the Farm

This is a modern mixed farming enterprise operating across 9,500 hectares with a strong focus on livestock performance, pasture management and continual improvement.

The business has recently invested in significant livestock infrastructure upgrades including a new 5 stand shearing shed and multiple sets of quality sheep yards. The owners are progressive in their approach and are continually looking at ways to improve efficiency and productivity across the operation.

About the Role

You’ll take responsibility for the day to day management of the sheep enterprise, while also assisting with broader farm operations during busy periods.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing approximately 12,000 Merino sheep
• Overseeing lambing, shearing, feeding programs and animal health
• Grazing management and flock performance monitoring
• Operating and maintaining livestock infrastructure
• Assisting with implementation of systems such as confinement feeding
• General farm duties including machinery operation and fencing when required
• Working closely with ownership and staff to ensure smooth day to day operations

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will have strong sheep and livestock management experience and be confident working both independently and within a team environment.

You will ideally bring:

• Proven experience managing sheep operations
• Strong understanding of animal health and pasture management
• Good communication and leadership skills
• Machinery operating and maintenance experience
• HR licence preferred but not essential
• Reliable attitude, strong work ethic and attention to detail
