Are you an experienced cropping operator and livestock worker looking for a long-term role in a progressive broadacre farming business? We are seeking a Lead Farm Hand to oversee the day-to-day operations of a large-scale cropping operation and livestock operations. About the Role:
As a Lead Farm Hand, you will be responsible for the efficient and effective operation of the farm’s cropping program. You will work closely with the farm owner to ensure optimal production.
Key Responsibilities:
✔ Cropping Operations: Executing seeding, spraying, harvesting, and general broadacre cropping activities.
✔ Machinery Operation & Maintenance: Operating and maintaining a modern fleet of tractors, air seeders, sprayers, and harvesters.
✔ Mechanical & Workshop Duties: Performing general repairs, servicing, and diagnostics on farm equipment.
✔ Record Keeping & Compliance: Maintaining accurate farm records, following WHS procedures, and ensuring efficient farm management.
About You:
✅ Previous experience in a broadacre cropping or mixed-farming enterprise.
✅ Strong mechanical aptitude – able to troubleshoot, service, and repair machinery.
✅ Confident in operating modern GPS-guided machinery and farm technology.
✅ Strong understanding of sheep and related work.
✅ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
✅ HR or MC truck licence (preferred but not essential).
✅ Chemical handling accreditation (ChemCert) (or willingness to obtain).
