A family run broadacre cropping operation in the southern wheatbelt of Western Australia is seeking a positive and experienced Cropping Operations Manager to mentor and work alongside a young team. Running a 16,500 hectare cropping program alongside contract earthmoving, bulk freight logistics and prime lamb lot feeding, this is a genuine opportunity to lead operations for a progressive and supportive family owned business.
🌾 About the Operation
A large scale, family owned broadacre cropping business running a 16,500 hectare cropping program in the southern wheatbelt of WA. Alongside the core cropping operation, the business is also involved in contract earthmoving, bulk freight logistics and prime lamb lot feeding, giving genuine variety across the calendar year.
🔧 About the Role
Working closely with the owners of the business, you will take on day to day management of cropping and machinery related operations, while mentoring and supporting a young team.
- Manage daily cropping and machinery operations in conjunction with the owners
- Mentor and work alongside a young and developing team
- Apply strong broadacre cropping and agronomy knowledge across the program
- Oversee machinery and precision agriculture technology use
- Lead forward planning and seasonal scheduling
- Manage staff communication and day to day team coordination
- Promote teamwork and a positive on farm culture
✅ What You'll Need
- Strong broadacre cropping and agronomy knowledge
- Good understanding of machinery and precision agriculture technology
- Demonstrated leadership and staff management experience
- Strong understanding of current WHS standards
- Current Australian driver's licence (MC licence preferred but not essential)
- Ability to plan ahead and manage seasonal scheduling across a large operation
