Seeking an experienced all rounder to join a well established mixed cropping and livestock operation running across three properties in WA's Great Southern, working across boomspray, header and seeding programs alongside a substantial ewe flock. This is a genuine hands on role for someone confident on machinery and happy to pitch in with stock work when required.

🌾 About the operation
This mixed cropping and livestock enterprise runs across three separate properties in the Williams, Wickepin and West Arthur farming districts, totalling 4,200 hectares. Of that, 2,100 hectares is under crop, growing barley, canola and lupins, with GPS guidance and autosteer run through Trimble and John Deere systems.
The livestock side runs 7,500 mated ewes, including an 800 head commercial ram breeding flock, with yards and a shearing shed at each property.

🚜 About the role
A full-time Farm Hand position covering both the cropping and livestock sides of a well run mixed enterprise. You'll spend time across boomspray, header and seeding work through the cropping season, and pitch in on sheep husbandry duties around shearing and sale time.
Key responsibilities include:
🔸 Operating boomspray, header and seeding machinery across the cropping program
🔸 Assisting with sheep husbandry duties, including shearing and sale periods
🔸 General farm maintenance and upkeep across the properties
🔸 Working as part of a small team across multiple properties
🔸 Following safe work practices and farm procedures at all times
Hours vary with the season. Longer days are required during shearing, sheep selling, harvest and seeding, with reduced hours through the quieter periods, averaging around 85 hours per fortnight.
✅ What you'll need
• Experience operating boomspray, header and seeding rigs
• Basic sheep husbandry skills desirable but not essential
• Unrestricted C class licence minimum, HR or HC highly regarded
• Willingness to work extended hours during peak periods
• Reliable, practical and comfortable working as part of a small team across multiple properties

Darkan is the closest town, about 20km away, with a bus service to the local primary school and Collie Senior High School, plus a basic grocery store, pub and sports club. Williams is around 35km away, and Collie, about 60km away, has Coles and Woolworths. Narrogin is roughly 70km, Bunbury around 120km and Armadale about 160km.
Locally there's a football club (Wagin, Darkan or Williams), water sports at Lake Towerinning, a swimming pool, bowls, golf, darts, a rifle club and a St John Ambulance branch, making it a solid, connected community for singles and families alike.
