A well established broadacre cropping operation in WA's Mid West is seeking an experienced Farm Hand to join a small, close knit team. Running a 4,000 hectare program across owned country, this is a great opportunity for someone who works well unsupervised, takes pride in doing a job right, and is looking for genuine long term earning potential.
🌾 About the Operation
A 4,000 hectare broadacre cropping operation based in WA's Mid West, with around 3,997 hectares under crop. The program covers wheat, lupins and canola. The operation runs a modern machinery fleet including a Case IH Quadtrac 600, a Patriot 4450 self propelled sprayer, an Axial Flow 8250 header and a John Deere 8RT 370, all running Trimble guidance.
🔧 About the Role
Working as part of a small team, you will be involved across the full cropping calendar, with plenty of variety between seeding, harvest, spraying and general yard work.
- Seeding, harvest and spraying across the cropping program
- General yard and shed work, including machinery upkeep
- Ability to work unsupervised and use initiative
- Clear communication with the owner and wider team
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic
✅ What You'll Need
- At least 3 to 5 years experience in broadacre cropping
- HR or MC license desirable (the right candidate can be supported through an MC license for occasional road haulage)
- ChemCert accreditation desirable
- Comfortable working unsupervised
- Strong communication skills and a reliable, team focused attitude
🎁 What's on Offer
- Starting at $100,000 per annum for the right person, based on experience
- Single cab 4x4 work ute provided
- Choice of on farm single living quarters or an off farm 3x2 house in town
- All of January available as annual leave
- Standard hours Monday to Friday outside seeding and harvest, with Saturdays included during peak season
🏠 Accommodation
Two options are available: on farm single living quarters, or an unfurnished 3x2 house in town with reverse cycle air conditioning, a carport, and a small front garden and lawned backyard. Power is provided on a percentage basis and water is fully included. The house is well suited to a family.
📍 Location
Located in WA's Mid West, around 30km from Mingenew (primary school and IGA), 80km from Geraldton (regional centre with beaches, hospital and high schools), and 75km from Dongara (IGA and beaches). The local district has a strong community feel, with day care available four days a week and active football, hockey, netball, tennis and golf clubs for both seniors and juniors, plus a strong arts and crafts community.
