A large scale, family run broadacre cropping operation in WA's central wheatbelt is after an experienced Farm Hand for a senior, hands on role. They're known for high standards, modern systems and well maintained gear, and you'll be working with some of the most advanced cropping technology in Australia, including autonomous spraying, precision ag and controlled traffic.

What you'll be doing

In the paddock

  • Operating high capacity broadacre machinery
  • Seeding, spraying and harvest operations

In the workshop

  • General mechanical repairs and servicing
  • Welding and fabrication work
  • Machinery and workshop maintenance

Good to know: this is a senior role with responsibility across machinery, maintenance and farm systems. Off peak you'll work 40 to 50 hours a week, with long days through seeding, spraying and harvest.

Tractors, headers and sprayers

  • 2 Challenger track tractors on 18m DBS CTF seeding
  • 4 Case harvesters with 18m Midwest fronts
  • 2 Goldacres G6 36m boomsprays
  • 36m WeedIT optical sprayer
  • 18m autonomous SwarmBot sprayer

Precision ag and systems

  • RTK GPS autosteer
  • Variable rate seeding and section control
  • Protein monitoring at harvest
  • QuickDraw auto batching unit

What you'll need

Experience

  • 5 to 7 years in broadacre cropping
  • Strong mechanical ability and pride in your workmanship

Licences

  • HR licence (required)
  • MC licence (highly desirable)
  • Forklift licence (preferred)

  • Is happy to put in long hours during peak periods
  • Has a sharp eye for detail and enjoys solving problems
  • Is honest, reliable and professional
  • Works well on your own and as part of a close knit team
