Join a large scale family run broadacre cropping operation in the central Wheatbelt that is known for running high standards, modern systems and well maintained machinery. This is a senior hands on role suited to an experienced broadacre operator who enjoys responsibility, problem solving and being trusted to get the job done properly. You will be working with some of the most advanced technology in Australian cropping, including precision ag, autonomous spraying and controlled traffic systems, while playing a key role in the day to day success of a large and efficient farming business.

ABOUT THE FARM

The operation spans 16,000 hectares, with around 14,000 hectares under wheat and canola production. It is a modern, well run business that prioritises efficient systems, precision agriculture and high standards of care for both machinery and staff.

The farming system includes:
• Large scale wheat and canola cropping program
• Modern high capacity machinery fleet including
• 2 x Challenger track tractors with 18m DBS seeding on controlled traffic
• 4 x Case harvesters with 18m Midwest fronts
• 2 x Goldacres G6 36m boomsprays
• 36m WeedIT optical sprayer
• 18m autonomous SwarmBot sprayer
• RTK GPS autosteer and precision agriculture systems
• Protein monitoring at harvest
• Variable rate seeding and section control technology
• QuickDraw auto batching unit for loading sprayers

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a senior position with responsibility across machinery operation, maintenance and farm systems. You will play a key role in keeping the operation running smoothly during both peak and off peak periods.

Duties include
🔸 Operating high capacity broadacre machinery
🔸 Seeding, spraying and harvest operations
🔸 General mechanical repairs and servicing
🔸 Welding and fabrication work
🔸 Machinery and workshop maintenance
🔸 Working independently and as part of a close knit team

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

✔ 5 to 7 years broadacre cropping experience
✔ Strong mechanical ability with pride in workmanship
✔ HR licence required with MC highly desirable
✔ Forklift licence preferred
✔ Ability to work long hours during peak periods
✔ High attention to detail and problem solving skills
✔ Honest, reliable and professional approach to work

HOURS LIFESTYLE & LOCATION
