Join a family run, progressive broadacre farming business in the eastern Wheatbelt of Western Australia. This is a genuine Second in Charge opportunity for a capable operator looking to take on responsibility within a modern, well equipped enterprise.

The business is known for its forward thinking approach, strong systems, and investment in top tier machinery, including two brand new John Deere X9 headers joining the fleet this season. You will work closely with the owner to support daily operations, staff supervision, and machinery management across the cropping program.

While the business also runs sheep, the 2IC role is heavily focused on the cropping side of the operation, with livestock duties being minimal.

ABOUT THE FARM

A large scale, modern mixed enterprise with a strong focus on efficiency, technology, and well run systems.

Total farm area: 11,000 hectares
Cropping program: 8,500 hectares

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a hands on 2IC position with a strong focus on cropping operations.

Key duties
🔸 Assisting with staff supervision and training
🔸 Operating modern broadacre machinery
🔸 Machinery servicing and preventative maintenance
🔸 Chemical handling and spraying
🔸 Supporting cropping logistics and daily decision making
🔸 Occasional livestock work when required (minimal)

General hours are approximately 9.5 hour days, five days per week, with increased hours during seeding and harvest.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

✔ Previous broadacre machinery experience
✔ Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
✔ Chemical handling experience
✔ MC licence preferred but not essential
✔ Positive attitude and strong work ethic
✔ Willingness to be part of the local community
