Join a well established, family owned broadacre cropping operation located approximately 18km north of Kellerberrin in Western Australia.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced broadacre operator looking to step into a Second in Charge role within a progressive, professionally run business with modern systems and machinery.

You will work closely with the owners to assist with day to day management of the operation, taking responsibility across cropping programs, staff coordination and machinery, while remaining hands on in the paddock. This role offers long term stability, responsibility and the opportunity to grow within the business.

ABOUT THE FARM

Family run, 7,000 hectare broadacre cropping enterprise operating under a controlled traffic farming system.

Cropping program
• Approximately 7,000 hectares cropped
• Wheat, barley, canola and lupins
• Controlled traffic system
• Modern John Deere machinery with GPS and auto steer

Machinery and equipment includes
• John Deere tractors
• Bourgault air seeders
• John Deere self propelled and tow behind sprayers
• John Deere S780 headers
• Well equipped workshop and fully enclosed maintenance sheds

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a full time permanent 2IC role working closely with ownership to support daily farm operations and seasonal planning.

The position suits someone with solid broadacre experience who enjoys leadership, responsibility and contributing to operational decision making.

Duties include
🔸 Assisting with daily farm management and planning
🔸 Seeding, spraying and harvest operations
🔸 Planning and implementing spraying programs
🔸 Supporting and coordinating casual staff during busy periods
🔸 Machinery operation across all programs
🔸 Machinery maintenance planning and workshop duties
🔸 General farm duties as required

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

✔ 3 to 5 years broadacre cropping experience
✔ Strong GPS and auto steer experience
✔ HR licence minimum
✔ Chem Cert
✔ Mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills
✔ Good communication and leadership ability
✔ Physically fit and capable of long hours during seeding and harvest
✔ A genuine passion for agriculture
