Join a large scale, well established mixed farming operation in the Great Southern of Western Australia. This is an excellent opportunity for a capable and motivated farm hand looking to step into a Second in Charge role over time within a professional, family run business.

You will work closely with the owner to help manage day to day operations across cropping and livestock enterprises, taking pressure off during busy periods and contributing to long term business performance. This role offers genuine progression, responsibility, and stability for the right candidate.

ABOUT THE FARM

This is a 6,000 hectare mixed enterprise with a strong focus on scale, efficiency and well run systems.

Cropping enterprise
• Approximately 5,000 hectares of crop
• Canola, barley, wheat, oats and lupins
• All operations run on Trimble GPS with tramline systems

Livestock enterprise
• Approximately 10,000 sheep, predominantly Merino
• Four shearing sheds in good condition including one modern shed built in 2010
• Minimal feedlotting

Machinery and equipment includes
• New Hardi Sarritor self propelled boomspray
• Case IH Rowtrac Magnum tractors
• Case IH Flagship harvesters
• Mack trucks
• DBS bars with Simplicity bins

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a full time position with the opportunity to step into a 2IC role for the right person. You will be involved across all aspects of the operation, with a strong focus on spraying, machinery, logistics and supporting the owner with daily management.

Duties include
🔸 Operating self propelled sprayer
🔸 Truck driving primarily farm to farm
🔸 Supporting day to day operational decision making
🔸 General machinery operation and maintenance
🔸 Mechanical work and workshop repairs
🔸 Assisting with livestock work as required - Minimal
🔸 Working as part of a team during seeding and harvest

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

✔ Broadacre farming experience preferred
✔ Strong mechanical ability
✔ Livestock experience advantageous but not essential
✔ Good communication skills and team mindset
✔ Ability to step up during busy periods
✔ Must hold or be willing to obtain an MC licence

HOURS LIFESTYLE AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

🕐 General hours are approximately 7.30am to 5.30pm
🌾 Additional hours required during seeding and harvest
⚠️ Strong focus on safety, teamwork and fatigue management
