🌾 ABOUT THE STATION

77,000 ha breeding property running approximately 2,816 head of cattle plus around 20 horses, located in the heart of the Pilbara just outside Karratha.

Property features include:

  • 22 paddocks with steel cattle yards

  • 25 solar bore water systems

  • Workshop and machinery sheds

  • Airstrip

  • Homestead plus 7 single workers' quarters

🚜 ABOUT THE ROLE

Station Management (Lead Role)

  • Oversee all day to day station operations, staff and contractors

  • Lead all livestock management including breeding, health, herd development and turnoff

  • Plan and execute mustering, branding, weaning and yard work (mustering contractor currently in place)

  • Maintain and improve infrastructure including fencing, yards and water systems

  • Hands on maintenance across plant, equipment, vehicles and station assets

  • Monitor and maintain 25 solar bore systems and broader water infrastructure

  • Rangeland monitoring and regeneration in line with the corporation's land management priorities

  • Record keeping including NLIS, NVDs, production data and station reporting

  • Budget forecasting, capex planning and financial monitoring

  • Report directly to the CEO and contribute to strategic and operational planning

  • Mentor and develop Indigenous staff working on station

  • Maintain strong relationships with Board, stakeholders and the wider community

This role suits an experienced manager who leads from the front, takes genuine pride in animal welfare and land stewardship, and values working alongside an Indigenous corporation and its people.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • 10+ years' experience managing large scale livestock pastoral businesses

  • Demonstrated experience working with Indigenous corporations

  • High level understanding of Indigenous culture in complex and sensitive situations

  • Proven ability to mentor and develop staff in livestock production, rangeland management and station maintenance

  • Strong commitment to animal welfare and quiet stock handling

  • Practical capability across water systems, infrastructure, vehicles and machinery

  • Strong skills in budgeting, capex planning and reporting to a CEO and Board

  • Computer literate in Excel, Word and livestock management programmes

  • Agricultural qualifications; business and natural resource management qualifications well regarded

  • Current vehicle and truck licences

  • Fluent English with excellent communication skills
